Alison Hardcastle

Alison Hardcastle is an illustrator, designer, book artist and printmaker making handmade books, prints, screenprinted cards and general screenprinted bits and pieces sold in various galleries and shops throughout the UK. Based near York, Alison works from her studio at home and her print studio nearby.
Alongside her freelance work, Alison teaches on both the BA and MA illustration courses at Edinburgh College of Art.

Alison finds inspiration in words, phrases, language, the oddities of other people, colour, pattern, structures & buildings, cities, the countryside, car boot sales, signs, collections, type, personal experience and finding ways of collecting, recording and documenting all of the above.
She’s also very fond of afternoon tea.
